Мета: повторити та активізувати вивчену лексику, практикувати учнів у сприйнятті іншомовного мовлення на слух; розвивати мислення, вміння працювати в групах, виховувати культуру спілкування.

  Dear friends, we gathered  for the contest between the pupils of the third and fourth forms. Its aim is to show your knowledge of English.  We have two teams : “The Star” / form 3 / and “The Moon” / form 4 /.

Брейн-ринг "Хто найрозумніший?"
/ 5 - 6 класи /

МЕТА: вчити учнів сприймати та розуміти іншомовне мовлення на слух, розвивати логічне мислення, мовну здогадку та вміння усного спілкування учнів,  виховувати інтерес до вивчення англійської мови, розуміння важливості володіння іноземною мовою як засобом спілкування.

Вступне слово вчителя:

Good afternoon dear jury, our teams and guests. You’re welcome to the intellectual English contest “Brain – ring”. Our aim is to show students’ knowledge not only of English but Literature and Geography as well, to widen outlook and encourage students to speak. Now I’d like to introduce our teams and jury to you…

I. Конкурс "Виберіть правдиві речення"
1. Travelling by plane is the fastest. You can get to many cities only in a few hours. You can stop wherever you like. During the trip you can sit comfortably in the armchair and read, eat or sleep. During the trip you need no tickets. Tourists visit many countries by plane. You can see many places: monuments, museums.
 2. Travelling by boat is the fastest. It is the most interesting and pleasant. You can go down the river and see many interesting places during your trip, new towns and villages. You can stop wherever you like and swim in the river. During the trip you can sit comfortably in the armchair and read, eat or sleep. You can see a lot of things from the carriage window.
3. Travelling by car is comfortable and interesting. It is also modern. It helps physical training. For this way of travelling you need no tickets. You can go down the river. You can stop wherever you like and see interesting places. You can get to many cities only in a few hours. Travelling by car is popular for pleasure trips.
ІІ. Конкурс "Намалюй історію"

T You’ll listen to a short story and your task is to draw what’s the story about. Teams get paper and coloured pencils.

 There is a big house in the middle of the picture. The house is yellow with red roof. There are two windows in the house and one door. To the left of the house there is a green tree. To the right of the house there are two flowers. One flower is red. Under the tree there is a black dog, on the tree there is a fat cat.
III. Конкурс «Пантоміма»
T: The task for each team is to show the story they get to another team in miming. Another team has to guess what they show.

 Task 1
You have got a terrible headache. Call the doctor and ask him for help.

 Task 2
You come to a shop and buy some bread.

 Teacher: Good morning, dear teachers, pupils and guests! You are welcome to see the fairy-tale presented by the pupils of the primary school. Let’s see what happened with them…
The ant: Hello, everybody! I am a very nice ant. I live in this forest. Now I’ll tell you a fine fairy-tale. Listen, please.
The grandfather went to the forest and lost his mitten. The mouse saw it and said.
The mouse: Here I’ll live!
The ant: And soon the frog jumps and asks.
The frog: Who lives in this mitten?
The mouse: I do. I am a Mouse, and who are you?
The frog: I am a Frog. May I live with you?
The mouse: Yes, you may! Come in, please!
The ant: And soon the hare runs and asks.
The hare: Who lives in this mitten?
The mouse: We live here! I am a Mouse.

The ant: Suddenly, the grandfather began to look for his mitten and the dog ran, saw it and said “Bark-Bark!” and all the animals were afraid of him and ran away. The grandfather took the mitten and went home, and all the animals stayed to live in the forest.
